I really want to learn Japanese, fluently, and I would love to know the best way I can go about doing so. Any specific place, specific items, or specific people I should go to? I’d prefer teaching myself, but if I’m not able to, I understand.

What’s the best way to learn a foreign language?

I need a foreign language for graduate school. I had a year of Spanish in high school, and a semester of French in college. What’s the best way to learn a language on your own? I work full time, so going to school isn’t a solution for me. (The pace of the college class I took was also way too slow for me.) Is there software for Latin, French, German, Old English, or one of the Scandinavian languages that is effective?
