How can I learn to make friends in high school?

So….I used to have friends. Then high school started. The friends I had got into drugs and all that and that’s just not for me. And after we started drifting apart, I realized I didn’t really know HOW to make friends since I’d had the same ones for so long.

Anyone have any tips? Similar stories?

I am a homely girl, how do I learn to be street smart and clever?

Both my parents are very overprotective, like more than you can believe but I don’t even complain because I like being at home, I am comfortable at home and I have everything I need (my pets, tv, internet, etc) but soon I will have to move out and go to university and I am scared the world will eat me alive. How do I learn to be street smart and clever?
