How difficult is it to learn a new language as an adult?

I want to learn Farsi, but I have heard that it is a difficult language to learn (besides when you’re a child, of course). I am an adult now, do you think it would be difficult for me to learn on my own? (Buying tapes, online courses, etc)

    all (foreign) languages are easy, provided u have interest and determination to learn. im 25 and im learning french! :)
