Do you teach your children to stand up for others, especially if it’s standing up to a friend?

For example, if a friend is making racial or religious (or pick your stereotype) jokes or commentary, do you teach your children that it’s right to vocalize disagreement? Are you a good example of this? Or do you remain quiet, even if you disagree, and not make a scene?

What were you taught by your parents, and is that different from what you’re planning on teaching your children?
There is a distinction between this question and the last one. Humor me, please.
