How do I talk to and interact with children?

learning to
Kay asked:

I’m an only child and I’ve never really had any experience with young children. I know most people find this natural to do, but I find it difficult to come up with things to talk about with them.

However, I’ll be working in a position at a zoo where I will have to present things to younger children. I may also be getting a job at a portrait studio, mostly dealing with kids. I need to learn how to interact with them better. Any tips?

Well little kids are easily amused. They love to talk about themselves, so try asking them about they’re favorite animal at the zoo or what animals they’ve seen that day. They find gross things funny like ******* and stuff.
